Multiversity’s Kickstarter Launched Today. Here’s How Day One Went.

The Multiversity Kickstarter - Day One Recap

We launched the Multiversity Kickstarter at midnight. Here’s how day one actually went, including the part where I woke up to four pledges and three of them were fraud.

We launched the Multiversity Kickstarter shortly after midnight last night. I went to bed wired but cautiously optimistic, woke up this morning, and immediately grabbed my phone.

I had $5,300 in pledges, which seemed too good to be true, and it was. Three of them were fraud. Kickstarter caught them and canceled the pledges before anything was processed, which is good, but it was a bit of a gut punch to go from “oh wow, five thousand dollars” to “oh, five dollars.” But things picked up!

kickstarter update 1227

Real people are getting involved now, and seeing it happen has been amazing. I get to go through this for the rest of April, which I think will be a month to remember.

The rest of my day was ads and outreach. There are ads running on Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, and Google, and we’ve been reaching out to local media to get the word out about the store and the campaign. If you have media contacts (or if you’re in the media yourself), hit me up! I’d love to have a conversation.

As of this writing, we’re at $1,227. For day one of a 30-day campaign, that’s a good start! Thank you to everyone who has pledged, shared, or just clicked the link to take a look.

More updates to come. Thank you for being here at the start.
